Picardy Third Entertainment is an Oklahoma based independent game studio founded by Ross Pinkstaff.

History

Early history

Picardy Third Entertianment was founded in 2012 by Ross Pinkstaff when he decided to make a commitment to actually finish and release a "real" game. He had programmed and worked on projects his whole life, including a number of toy projects, and games for his children, but never anything he'd actually want to show anyone. Picardy Third Entertaiment's first game was "Voxterium : Revision" which was a more fleshed out version of one of Ross's Ludum Dare entries. It was released on May 29, 2012 to understandably mixed feedback and reviews.

in a window

Picardy Third's next game, 'in a window' was released on Febuary 13, 2013. It is a 2D puzzle platformer with unconventional levels and a sarcastic attitude. 'in a window' was influenced by a negative feedback email for Voxterium : Revision, in which the author wrote up a multi page definition of what a game is, and what rules Ross had broken. In response, Ross created a game that broke every rule and convention he could think of. 'in a window' overall was recieved very well, with good reviews and a decent amount of good feedback. It was also chosen for the 2013 IndieCade E3 showcase, and was shown in Los Angeles in June of 2013.

After a short hiautus, Picardy Third Entertainment is back and venturing into the mobile market with Beat! Bop! Beat!
